about

This Human Condition’s debut single ‘Telepathic Heights’ was inspired by a riot that took place in 2011 in the Stokes Croft area of Bristol, England. The riot followed a raid by police on a squat named Telepathic Heights. A crowd quickly gathered, with approximately 300 people defending the squat and a 1,000 more caught up in the mayhem. Using 90s synthesizer sounds, helicopters, and some Indian chanting, Telepathic Heights conveys the emotion felt from the chaos and disorder of that riot including actual riot footage in the powerful video. The vocal mix is paired with an atmospheric instrumental mix for a truly intriguing release.

lyrics

Stokes Croft
It’s the vibrant active creative revolutionary in Britain
Yes.

There is trouble on the streets
Being smashed to smithereens
Falling stones collide
With the boys in blue and white

And i can hardly breathe
I cannot believe
In the city where i live

I see no truth in your eyes
As you terrorise
The Art of protest
In disguise

And i can hardly breathe
I cannot believe
In the city
Where i live

I see you all
I hear the sounds
Breaking glass and flashing lights
From telepathic heights

Helicopter in the sky
Shine their lights into my eyes
And i can hardly breathe
I cannot believe
In the city where i live
